BIR files P119-M tax evasion raps against 7 Makati companies – Manila Bulletin
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed separate tax evasion charges against seven Makati City-based companies for allegedly refusing to settle tax debts totaling more than 119 million pesos.
In formal criminal complaints filed with the Department of Justice, Makati Revenue Regional Manager Florante R. Aninag named the respondents as Asiaprime properties of Amorsolo St. Corner Javier St.; Laetitia Food from the village of San Lorenzo; Felicity Home Accessories from Greenbelt, Ayala Center;
Pocketsoft Philippines of Ayala Avenue; Be our guest Philippines from Southgate Mall, Chino Roces Avenue; Spicy Hunan from Barangay Poblacion; and Knoll Ridges Consultancy of Bel Air Village.
Aninag recommended filing criminal charges with BIR Commissioner Lilia Catris Guillermo after defendant allegedly ignored rounds of assessment and collection notices to settle overdue accounts in 2017 and prior years .
Responsible corporate officers, primarily the president and treasurer, were also included in the loaded sheets.
Spicy of Hunan received the highest deficiency income and business taxes of 44 million pesos, followed by Felicity Home and Knoll Ridges Consultancy at 26 million pesos and 23 million pesos, respectively.
