DaBaby’s Fatal 2018 Walmart Shooting – Invisible Video Surfaces
Never-before-seen video of DaBaby’s fatal 2018 shooting at a Walmart in North Carolina has surfaced.
Tonight (April 24), rolling stone released never-before-seen security footage of DaBaby’s 2018 altercation that killed 19-year-old Jaylin Craig. The “Rockstar” rapper, born Jonathan Kirk, was reportedly charged with carrying a concealed weapon after the shooting, but was never charged in Craig’s death.
The new video, which contains no audio, begins with DaBaby appearing to be confronted by two individuals: Jaylin Craig and Henry Douglas. A physical altercation breaks out between DaBaby and Douglas after Baby punches Douglas. Craig can be seen appearing to brandish a gun in the background, but then puts it away.
DaBaby and Douglas’ fight leads to another camera angle, which shows them both wrestling with each other. Craig then walks towards them, appearing to reach for a gun a second time before attempting to separate the rapper and Craig. DaBaby’s then-girlfriend Mariah Osbourne confronts Craig, at one point appearing to raise her right hand to his face as Baby and Douglas continue to struggle.
The footage then cuts to the previous angle and shows DaBaby sliding across the floor in frame with a gun in his right hand. He then adjusts the hood of his hoodie that was over his head and appears to fire the gun. The footage does not show Craig being hit, only DaBaby appears to be firing the gun. You can watch the video in its entirety at the bottom of this article.
As mentioned earlier, the Church The rapper has continually maintained his self-defense claim in the years since the shooting.
“If these shots didn’t go off, nigga, my goddamn daughter could’ve been hit, my son could’ve been hit, me,” he said in a social media video just days later. the incident. “Fucking lawyers telling me not to say anything and shit, shit all that. everything is fine too.”
Craig’s family, on the other hand, have a very different perception of their son’s death.
“We never hid from anyone,” Craig’s mother Horsley said. rolling stone. “We have never [heard] belongs to nobody. You all knew our names from a news clip. But no one ever asked us how Jaylin was. Nobody.”
“It’s stressing me out right now because every time you turn on the radio you hear [DaBaby]said Craig’s father, Curtis. “You can’t even listen to the radio. I constantly think of my son. We all go through the same things. Every time we talk about it, we think we’re going somewhere, and nobody tries to help us. Every lawyer we’ve talked to, they’re on this case [and say] ‘Okay, we’ll come back with you.’ We hear nothing [back].”
Although DaBaby was never prosecuted for Craig’s death, he was charged with carrying a concealed weapon. DaBaby didn’t have a license for the gun. In March 2019, the charge was suddenly dropped after “a key civilian witness was unavailable”, according to rolling stone through a departmental representative.
However, the charge was later brought against DaBaby by the state and he was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, as well as a 30-day suspended prison sentence.
rolling stone received the following response from the District Attorney’s Office in response to the question as to why Kirk did not receive more serious charges: “[We] reviewed the police investigation file and accepted the Huntersville Police Department’s decision not to prosecute Mr. Kirk because prosecutors could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused had not not acted in self-defense.
According to a local Fox46 station in North Carolina, a report they released in March 2019 after speaking with Craig’s parents claims the security footage was not shown in court.
DaBaby has already appeared to respond to the images surfacing. “Niggas that pick on me can’t fuck with people that pray for me!” he wrote in a tweet.
