LIRS optimizes the payment procedure on eTax for taxpayers

Determined to ensure efficiency, the Lagos State Revenue Service has begun optimizing its payment procedures for the convenience of taxpayers.

This was contained in a statement from the Head of Corporate Communications, LIRS, Monsurat Amasa.

The statement quoted LIRS Executive Chairman Mr. Ayodele Subair as saying that as part of the agency’s digitization process, the agency is removing all previously used invoice references effective August 1, 2022.

Therefore, the President stated that only invoice references generated by Enterprise Tax Solutions would be acceptable for payment of taxes.

The statement read in several parts, “The eTax platform, which was launched in October 2019, was launched by LIRS to engender transparent tax operations and reduce compliance costs for taxpayers. Since its launch, eTax has improved the efficiency of tax administration in Lagos State”.

Subair said eTax was designed as a one-stop-shop for all tax transactions, noting that it was in the same spirit that “invoice reference generation, required for all tax payments, is now exclusive to the platform. -eTax form”.

He reiterated that on the August 1, 2022 deadline, e-Tax would become the only authorized channel to generate an invoice reference for tax payments and other fiscal transactions in Lagos State.
