Power and opposition members fight against each other

Following the election of BJP MP Rahul Narvekar as Assembly Speaker, Treasury and opposition lawmakers clashed over recent policy developments and the way forward. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde claimed it was not a rebellion, but the lawmakers took a tough stance on Hindutva saying that it was currently in India that party lawmakers in power headed towards the opposition to form the alternative government.

On the other hand, former DCM Ajit Pawar referred to BJP central leadership’s decision to demote Devendra Fadnavis to deputy chief minister and claimed that the decision was not welcomed by the saffron party, because it was visible in the atmosphere within the BJP. He lashed out at BJP head of state Chandrakant Patil for banging the table after the new government’s first victory for the post of president saying, ”Don’t do it because he is not sure that Dada (Chandrakant Patil) obtains the ministerial place. .”

Pawar referenced the rebellion organized by Eknath Shinde and said, “If Shinde had told my ears to become the CM, I would have definitely told former CM Uddhav Thackeray and made him CM. “

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said: “This BJP-Shiv Sena alliance government under the leadership of Eknath Shinde will try to fulfill all the aspirations of Maharashtra and we hope you (the President) will grant good cooperation. for the same.”

Shiv Sena MLA Aaditya Thackeray has targeted the Shinde-Fadnavis government over the strict security measures in place for rebel MLA Shiv Sena as they entered the Vidhan Bhavan premises from a nearby luxury hotel. “Even Kasab didn’t have that much security. We have never seen such security before in Mumbai. Why are you scared? Is anyone gonna run away? Why so much fear, said Thackeray. He noted that the rebels needed to agree and tell people what they had done was right.

NCP MP Jayant Patil hoped the opposition would get justice from the ”son-in-law” referring to newly elected President Rahul Narvekar who is the son-in-law of NCP veteran Ramraje Nimbalkar who is the chairman of the state council.

During the tally to elect the Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly, the opposition benches chanted “ED, ED” as Shiv Sena’s Yamini Yashwant Jadhav recorded his tally. Jadhav is the wife of former Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) standing committee chairman, Yashwant Jadhav, who is being questioned by the ED in a case of alleged violations of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). Income tax officials had also seized a Jadhavs-owned apartment in Bandra and nearly 40 Yashwant-linked properties on the tax evasion charges earlier this year.
